G2GMobile Now Offers Macintosh Computers!

VCU 's G2GMobile@VCU program has arranged with Apple to offer Macintosh laptops to those VCU student who need or would rather use a Mac computer. Benefits of this program include special pricing and 3 years of AppleCare, which extends Apple's normal 1-year warranty to 3 years (manufacturing defects only).

Please note that these computer do not come with VCU-required Microsoft Office software--a separate purchase is required. They do not include the VCU antivirus software (Sophos)--purchasers must download and install this software themselves (free download). Nor do they include the same ThinkPad protection as our other laptop offerings. These computers are covered by AppleCare (information here). VCU's G2G Service Center will provide onsite warranty service and general computing support for these computers but accidental damage will incur a repair charge.

Art students who are required to have Mac Laptops for their program (more information about School of the Arts requirements) should purchase the MacBook Pro. Other students wishing to do graphic work on their computer should note that the MacBooks do not include a discrete graphics card.
