VCU Technology Services, working with Lenovo, maker of the award-winning ThinkPad computers, has developed the G2GMobile program for VCU students. There are many advantages to getting one of the new Lenovo ThinkPad computers, including special pricing, ThinkPad Protection, on-campus service, loaner computers, and all software most students need.
Please note that the models listed here are designed for students entering in the Fall of 2008 and will not be available for purchase until the end of April. If you MUST have a computer NOW, and can't wait, you can still click on the Lenovo button and purchase last year's models on the Lenovo website, but they will have different specifications than the ones listed here, so be sure to pay attention to the specifications and realize that waiting will get you more computer for less money.

You've heard about the X300?
Lenovo's new X300 does not meet VCU's specs, so it's not offered as part of the G2G program. The new solid state drive is cool, but at just 64 GBs, it's not big enough to work for most students. The technology is just not there--yet.

Add an accessory pack
We've created a handy accessory pack with the stuff most students need to keep their laptops and files safe and secure. This pack includes a 4-year LoJack monitoring license**, a 2GB USB flash memory key drive*, a 15" protective sleeve for your ThinkPad, a Kensington security cable lock**, a 160 GB high-speed portable backup drive* and a 25' ethernet cable**. This package makes an excellent gift for a graduating senior if a family member is looking for a suggestion. It does not need to be purchased with the laptop.
