Getting Discounted Software
VCU is currently changing vendors for its bookstore, and closing its computer store Online@VCU. We expect the new bookstore vendor, Barnes & Noble, to provide a service for purchasing discounted software for students. Once that is in place, information about that service will be posted here. In any case, we expect this to be available no late than the middle of summer, so you should be able to purchase software before the Fall 2008 semester. Please check this page for breaking information.
If you are a current VCU student/staff/faculty member with a VCUCard, you can order educational software now from JourneyEd. You will need to make a copy of your VCUCard and fax or mail it to the company to complete your order. Please note that their version of Microsoft Office is more expensive than VCU's will be, and will not include Access (the database component), which is part of the version VCU offers under it's contract with Microsoft, so you may want to wait until those details are worked out.
VCU does offer some free downloadable software to students, faculty and staff with a valid eID (to learn more about eIDs visit this page). To see a list with links to the software, visit the software downloads page.
